On July 10, Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco signed SB188 into law (Act No. 379). The new law will make New Markets Tax Credits easier to transfer, caps the entire program at $75 million, and places a per-project cap of $5 million per project. Meanwhile, SB135 (Historic Preservation Tax Credit) passed out of the House on June 25 with amendments. On June 26th the Senate rejected the House amendments and the bill was sent to conference committee but died when the legislative session adjourned on June 28.
