Join Poplar Forest and the Reverend Dr. Nathan Taylor, the executive director of the Virginia Baptist Historical Society and the Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies at the University of Richmond, for a conversation about the American tradition of religious liberty in the fifth session of the 2026 Jefferson’s Curiosities Series.

Thomas Jefferson was a champion of religious freedom and proponent of the separation of church and state. Virginia Baptists played an influential role in the formation of the American tradition of religious liberty and continue to embrace religious freedom as a hallmark of their historic identity.
