An exhibit by Historic Boulder, Inc. and the Museum of Boulder on the Valmont area east of the city. The town of Valmont rivaled Boulder in the 1860s but has nearly vanished. The exhibit covers the geology and history of Valmont Butte, the industries that shaped the area and left lasting environmental problems, and the historic structures that remain and why they are worth preserving. Visitors are invited to share their own memories and ideas for the area’s future.

On view through January 7, 2027. Open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; closed Tuesdays.
