For the seventh consecutive year, Preservation Massachusetts (PM) is honored to partner with The 1772 Foundation to administer $125,000 as part of its increasingly popular Massachusetts Historic Preservation Matching Grant fund program. In the Fall of 2025, PM received applications for more than $300,000 in grant funding for exterior painting; finishes and surface restoration; repairs and restoration of porches, roofs, and historic windows; foundation and sill repairs; and masonry repairs and chimney repointing.

After a rigorous review process, PM recommended 15 applicants spanning a variety of project types and locations across the Commonwealth. We are proud to announce that the Trustees of The 1772 Foundation approved grants for all recommended projects, totaling $125,000!

Preservation Massachusetts is grateful to The 1772 Foundation for its generosity in continuing to fund this impactful program, which supports stewardship of our collective history across the Commonwealth.
