Need Travel Support in Order to Submit to the SAA 92nd Annual Meeting?
Are you hesitating to submit to the SAA 92nd Call for Submissions because you are uncertain about the costs of attending the annual meeting in 2027?
You may be able to apply for the first round of Deborah L. Nichols Meeting Access Grants—up to $500 to successful applicants to defray travel, hotel, food, incidentals, visa, poster printing, meeting registration, or other expenses that may be barriers to participating in the SAA 92nd Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The deadline for the first round of applications is July 15, 2026, and notification of awards will be made around August 15, 2026. This timing allows you to start a submission but finalize after you hear if you will receive an award. (Please note that the Call for Submissions for program participation closes Thursday, September 10, at 3:00 p.m. ET., and there are no extensions possible.)
Applicants must be current members of the SAA and must belong to one or more of the following categories: student (undergraduate and graduate); first-generation college student; international member*; Indigenous, Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, or First Nations person; and/or first-time presenter at the SAA 92nd Annual Meeting.
* Following SAA Membership categories, international membership is afforded to persons living in Latin America and countries or regions not listed here: Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda, Brunei, Canada, Cyprus, Israel, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Libya, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United States, or Western Europe.
