Freedman’s State Park Master Plan Public Meeting
Preservation Maryland and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources are preparing a master plan for Freedman’s State Park, more than 1,000 acres of historic landscapes and sites tied to the Howard family. Building on a Cultural Landscape Report completed in 2025, the plan will guide long-term stewardship, land conservation, passive recreation and historic interpretation. The first public meeting is offered twice with the same content.
In person: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Sandy Spring Museum. Online: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Registration required for both.
