The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation has sent its formal comments on the proposed Triumphal Arch in Washington, D.C., and Virginia to Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, in a letter from ACHP Vice Chairman Travis Voyles dated October 9, 2026. The comments were made under the Council’s responsibilities in the National Historic Preservation Act.

The ACHP collected public comments on the project and its effects on historic properties in September and says it considered them in preparing its recommendations. The Section 106 review concludes once the Secretary has considered and responded to the comments.
