DC Historic Sites Adds “Haunted History of DC” and “Cemeteries of DC” Virtual Tours
The DC Preservation League’s DC Historic Sites website has two new virtual tours. Haunted History of DC explores spooky stories tied to historic places from the Old Stone House to the Octagon House and the U.S. Capitol, plus Georgetown’s famous “Exorcist Steps.” Cemeteries of DC visits ten historically designated cemeteries, including Rock Creek Cemetery (founded 1719, the oldest in the District), Mount Zion Cemetery, significant to African American history, and Oak Hill Cemetery, a fine example of the Rural Cemetery Movement.
