The National Park Service is now accepting applications for the African American Civil Rights grant program, the History of Equal Rights grant program, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) preservation grant program. All of these grants are funded through the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) and help support important preservation work across the country. The deadline for applications for all of these programs is quickly approaching.

$24 million is available in FY25 African American Civil Rights preservation grants. This program supports projects that document, interpret, and preserve sites and stories that tell the full story of the long struggle for African American civil rights. $10 million in funding is available in FY25 and FY26 History of Equal Rights grants. The program helps preserve sites related to the struggle of all Americans to achieve the ideal of equal rights. The deadline for applications is July 21st. Learn more and apply today!

$11 million in funding is available for the HBCU grant program for FY25. These grants help support a broad range of pre-preservation planning activities and physical preservation work for historic structures on HBCU campuses. The deadline for applications is July 30th. Learn more and apply today!
