Jens Jensen Day 2026
“To make the modern city livable is the task of our times” - Jens Jensen.
Jens Jensen Gardens in Evanston at the Harley Clarke Mansion will present Jens Jensen Day 2026 on Saturday, June 20 from 10a-1p at 2603 Sheridan Road. Join us to celebrate and explore this landscape and its principal author. This is a landscape of the mind (economic similarities and need), of the heart (with the ambition to foster connection and democracy), and of the soul (with very deep roots). And it is more essential now than ever.
The program includes a screening of the film Jens Jensen, The Living Green, a sneak preview of the “wonders” yet to come when we have restored the gardens, and an expert panel including Bob Grese, author of Jens Jensen: Maker of Natural Parks and Gardens, Julia Bachrach, author of The City in a Garden: A History of Chicago’s Parks, Carey Lundin, award-winning filmmaker who created The Living Green, and Joel Baldwin, a landscape architect leading the restoration of this garden at the Harley Clarke Mansion. Jens Jensen Gardens founder and Executive Director, Charles Smith, will moderate the panel.
All are welcome. For more information and to (please) register for this free event, click here.
