On August 27, an unprecedented coalition of more than 600 Tribal Nations, preservation and conservation organizations, professional associations, businesses, museums, historical societies, and state and local organizations delivered an open letter and brief to every member of Congress. The letter urges lawmakers to reject the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's proposed regulatory rollback of Section 106, oppose any statutory changes that would weaken it, and defend Congress's authority against executive efforts to bypass preservation law — while remaining open to fact-based improvements while maintaining the protections that make the process work.

Historic Hawaiʻi Foundation is proud to stand among the coalition's signatories, whose members and constituents represent more than 5 million Americans across every congressional district in the country.
