New Hampshire Preservation Alliance Announces 2026 Seven to Save List
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance announced its 2026 Seven to Save list on October 20 at the Epsom Meetinghouse. This year’s endangered places: the 1904 Shingle Style Woodbury Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church in Antrim; a pairing of North Country town halls, Bethlehem Town Hall (1912) and Lisbon Town Hall and Opera House (1902); the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia; Exeter’s 1892 Park Street Bridge, the state’s only documented 19th-century low Warren truss bridge, closed since 2025; Haverhill’s 1827 First Congregational Church; Portsmouth’s Prescott Park waterfront buildings (the c. 1705 Sheafe Warehouse, the Shaw Warehouse and the 1833 Marine Railway Building), threatened by rising water; and South Weare Union Church (1875).
The Alliance received a record number of nominations for church buildings this year, reflecting the growing challenges facing these community landmarks.
