Property History
Elisha Camp, an industrialist, lawyer and soldier, settled in Sackets Harbor on Lake Ontario, near the Canadian border in 1804. Camp Manor has been occupied by six generations of Camp descendants up to the present day and is in need of rehabilitation. The furnishings date to the early 1820's and can be purchased with the property.

The south parlor contains a walnut secretary with a medallion that commemorates the 25th anniversary of George Washington's death.

The Elisha Camp House, Camp Manor, is an architecturally significant example of an elegant Federal Style property is the historic village of Sackets Harbor, NY. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, this important piece of history qualifies for New York State's Historic Homeowners Tax Credit. After the war of 1812, Colonel Elisha Camp received ownership of the American islands from Round Island to Morristown, NY.

The mansion was constructed nad designed by Barnabus Waterman described as a carpenter/builder who later won acclaim as an architect. From its symmetrical brick facade and fenestration this handsome Federal estate boasts highly embellsihed fireplaces, wide white pine flooring, tweleve foot ceilings, entry door elliptical fanlights and 5480 square feet of living area, five bedrooms and three baths plus several other living spaces. This is a property for persons that care for history and architecture in an idyllic setting within walking distance of the quaint historic village of Sackets Harbor on Lake Ontario, one of the "Great Lakes."
